DBSA AIMS TO ESTABLISH A NATIONAL WATER PROGRAMME
• The DBSA seeks to attract public and private sector investment while providing tangible solutions for different stakeholders, such as municipalities and other roleplayers in the water sector
• DBSA, along with various partners, was establishing the programme approach to tackle the various systemic issues that are hindering progress within the water sector
• The water sector is more difficult to finance than, for example, energy, where there are clear revenue streams

CHINESE FUNDING OF SUB-SAHARAN AFRICA INFRA DWARFS THAT OF WEST
• China’s development banks provided US$23-billion in financing for infrastructure projects in sub-Saharan Africa from 2007 to 2020
• Public funding for projects in sub-Saharan Africa remained stuck at around US$9-billion, well short of what the region needs for roads, dams and bridges
• The main US development finance agency, US International Development Finance Corp, lent just US$1.9-billion for infrastructure
STATE-OF-THE-ART CONCRETE REPAIRS SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE AT WATER PURIFICATION PLANT
• Citi-Con completed major concrete repairs to a water purification plant in the Mpumalanga coal fields on behalf of a leading coal miner
• This state-of-the-art facility treats contaminated underground mine water to pristine quality
• Work commenced with the repair of the bases of the two concrete tanks, with workers lowered down the 6m-high structures using rope-suspended platforms

• Potholes, cracks and craters litter arterial and suburban routes
• routine maintenance and resurfacing of roads has been spotty, at best
Rocla supplies culverts for road collapse in Eastern Cape
The team at Rocla double stripped a RP2100 Gang Mould so that we could increase our manufacturing output to six culverts per day, and get the culverts on the road as quickly as possible. The R61 at Tsomo Junction was officially reopened on 28 February 2022 by the Minister of Transport, Fikile Mbalula, in the presence of newly appointed CEO for Rocla, Lwazi Goqwana. The Rocla Rectangular Portal Culvert consists of a deck and two legs and is placed on a concrete base.
KWIKSPACE ADDS 60 CLASSROOMS TO SCHOOLS ACROSS NORTHERN CAPE
Earlier this year, Kwikspace received an order for 60 classrooms to meet the additional space required at 26 high and primary schools spread across the province. Each prefabricated classroom is equipped with chalkboards, pin boards, electrical plug points, lighting and standard windows. Kwikspace has, historically, played a pivotal role in helping schools countrywide with their educational, administration, ablution and storage space requirements
KARIBA DAM REHABILITATION PROJECT IN LINE FOR 2025 COMPLETION
The Kariba Dam Rehabilitation Project (KDRP) comprises projects to reshape the plunge pool and refurbish the spillway gates, This reshaping work will be achieved through construction of a temporary water-tight cofferdam to facilitate the reshaping works under dry conditions, These works are meant to replace secondary concrete and built-in-parts of upstream guide slots of the stop beams and ensure free movement of the electromechanical equipment that is used to block the flow of water from the upstream face-of-the-dam wall
